Baked Walleye


1/ lb. of walleye fillets
8 oz. of small cooked shrimp
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup shredded provolone cheese or mozzarella
chopped basil or a hint of parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
lemon wedges


Rinse and dry the fillets. In a small baking dish, slowly melt butter, put the fillets in the dish and add the lemon juice and salt. Place dish in 375 degree preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Slowly heat cream to boiling in a saucepan and then turn down to medium. Take the baked walleye dish and sprinkle the shrimp over the fillets. Pour the cream over this and then cover with the cheese. Broil until the cheese is melted. Sprinkle with the basil or parsley. Serve with the lemon wedges.
