Fishing Land O’ Lakes Wisconsin

Even though the Post Office says Wisconsin, the little town of Land O’ Lakes is located right on the border of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Situated between the famous Lac Vieux Desert and Cisco Chain, two of the most famous fishing destinations in the Midwest, the area’s waters offer a wide variety of fishing opportunities: muskie, smallmouth, largemouth, lake trout, stream trout, walleye, northern pike, and panfish all abound.

Land O’ Lakes sits at the gateway to the Ottawa National Forest and the renowned Sylvania Wilderness. In addition to beautiful, unspoiled lakes, the area provides great hunting, snowmobiling, water skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing opportunities.

For lodging, visitors can choose between camping at any of the various RV parks, checking into a motel, or renting cabins by the week at an area lodge. Dining options in Land O’ Lakes include coffee shops, family restaurants, supper clubs, and butchers and grocers if you’re looking for food to take with you on the waters. Stores in town sell everything from basic fishing and hunting supplies to souvenirs, while local craftsmen create exquisite woodcarvings, handcrafts, Native American art, and wrought iron.
